Wire Brushing the Rusty Surface
In the first phase, one of our skilled workers is seen inside the tanker, carefully wire brushing the rusty surface. This step is essential to remove loose rust and debris, creating a cleaner surface for further treatment. The wire brushing helps us identify the extent of the rust and prepares the area for more intensive removal methods.
Grinding the Rust Away
Next, the worker uses a grinder to remove the remaining rust, targeting the more stubborn areas that the wire brush couldn’t fully address. Grinding ensures that we eliminate all traces of rust, preventing further corrosion and extending the life of the tanker. This method also smooths out the surface, making it ready for any necessary repairs or coatings.
Take a look at the accompanying images showing the remarkable progress we’ve made so far. The difference is clear—what was once a rusty, compromised surface is now clean, smooth, and ready for the next steps in the refurbishment process.

By systematically addressing rust at this level, we ensure the CFSE Molasses tanker is restored to its best possible condition, ready for safe and efficient use. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this comprehensive refurbishment project.
